Meet Eliot.
Funny, warm, and completely himself. He'll welcome you into Team Luckiest by giving you your own sign name.
See the RoleWho Eliot is
Eliot is 29 years old and has Down syndrome. He is genuinely funny: the kind of person who times a joke perfectly and knows exactly when to deploy his best goofy face. He is warm, affectionate, and creative. But like anyone, Eliot has his good days and his harder ones. He can grow frustrated and cranky — and the people who show up consistently are the ones who learn to read him best.
He loves the Muppets, musicals, coloring, puzzles, and helping in the kitchen. He has a strong relationship with his t-shirt collection (The Who, Grateful Dead, Star Wars, Jaws) and he wears each one with full conviction. He takes real joy in small moments: a favorite song, a meal that turns out well, an afternoon with people he trusts.
Eliot is non-verbal, but he communicates in a rich and expressive way: a personalized set of ASL-based signs and a tablet communication app. We'll teach you his language. And one of the first things Eliot will likely do is give you your own sign name. That's his way of welcoming someone in.
He commits to the bit.
The Jaws shirt. The pink wraparound sunglasses. The thumbs up. This is a pretty accurate window into who Eliot is on a good day: confident, a little theatrical, and fully committed to whatever he's into at that moment.
His goofy streak surfaces at exactly the right time. He has a sense of comedic timing that catches people off guard, and an audience appreciation that makes it land even better. Spend a little time with Eliot and you'll see it: he is not a background presence. He has opinions, preferences, and a way of making the people around him feel like they belong.
What Eliot loves
The more you know going in, the better the days get.
Music and musicals
Eliot loves music: the Muppets, musicals, alternative, classic rock. Put on the right song and he will absolutely bust a move. No hesitation. Pure joy.
Making things
Eliot is a maker: coloring, puzzles, helping in the kitchen. He takes his time, does it carefully, and takes real pride in work that turns out well. You will too.
People he trusts
Eliot thrives with consistency and connection. The people who show up regularly become part of his world in a real way. He remembers. He notices. He cares.
